PostHeaderIcon Ela Family farm

Located in Hotchkiss Colorado Ela family farms is, as its name entitles, a family-owned all organic farm. Their biggest crops are Apples and Peaches, and they have other crops in smaller scale such as heirloom tomatoes, berries, cherries, plums and pears.
They also produce the best jams, fruit butters and apple sauce we have ever tried.
We had the opportunity to visit their farm and tour the Hotchkiss and Paonia towns where we had found great food and even better company

We have been very fortunate to have found and work with Ela Family Farms. All of the members of the Ela family are extremely kind and knowledgeable.
For two years we have been using their products as part of our baked goods. One of our most popular cakes is our light lemon curd cake with their yummy raspberry-peach jam.
They are part of many of the farmers markets that go on in Denver, Boulder and Fort Collins. Their fruit season is about to start and let me tell you, you won't find better tasting peaches and apples any where else.
We encourage you to visit them at the farmers market not only you would get a fantastic/tasty product, you would be supporting local farmers!

PostHeaderIcon Colorful and Classic

When Andrea (the bride) came to me with the idea of a cake with this design i got so excited! It is fresh and fun and i loved it.
We had 3 flavors of cake starting with a vanilla bean cream filled cake with srtawberry-pear jam from Ela Family farms, next tier was almond with hazelnut buttercream and chocolate-hazelnut to finish up.
The wedding was in beautiful Estes Park and the drive there was stunning!
Thank you Andrea

PostHeaderIcon Winter wedding

I had the pleasure of working with one of the most sweet and organized bride ever! Ashley was a delight and her main concern was to make her guest feel special.
We had sugar cookies for welcome bags in the shape of Louisiana (her home town) and California (Chad's, the groom, home town)
For the wedding a 3 tier cake with lemon-raspberry, apple-cinnamon cream, and chocolate-raspberry flavors, as well as, a "map" cake of their travels as a groom's cake.
To finish up the evening, we prepared goodie boxes for the guest to take to their room as a mid-night snack or morning pick-me up!
Thank you Ashley for having us be part of your wedding.
We also like to thank Rami and Kara from Pick me for their wonderful planning and flower designs.

PostHeaderIcon Blogged in Style me Pretty!

A gift that keeps on giving! that is what i think about this wedding every time i get an e-mail that it has been featured in another stylish blog. This week it is in Style me Pretty!
I am so happy to have worked with Ali in creating a simple, but delish Wedding pie display featuring some fruits from Ela family farms, like their mouth watering peaches and super crisp apples, plus other pie flavors.
I really never thought beyond the fact that we were very excited about having a yummy selection of organic pies, and that Ali was gracious enough to have Teacup prepare them for her wedding. When we arrived to the site it all made more sense to us, the decor and feel of the party made us understand that our humble pies were an important part of it.
Thank you Ali for making Teacup part of such a great, well put together, event!

PostHeaderIcon We have been blogged!

I got an e-mail from a bride a had the pleasure to work with this past October at Devil's Thumb Ranch. Alicia Carr, a very earthy-green consious bride, who wanted pies for her wedding instead of a cake. I found the idea very charming and different. She picked 10 different flavors including banana cream pie, lemon meringue, apple-strussel pie, blueberry-peach and more.
Her latest e-mail was to tell me that we have been blogged at Green Wedding Shoes, from California, because her wedding was very green and we had contributed to it by having our pies made with all organic ingredients, and lots of them from local sources, such as the peaches and apples from Ela family farm.
We are thrilled to know that there are people like Ali who care to make the effort of finding ways to make a wonderful event such this a bit more environmentally friendly.
Thank you Alicia for having us been part of your event, and thank you Tec Pataja for including pictures of our humble pies.

Hi Paula,
A big thank you for making our pie bar SO adorable! And tasty! Everyone was raving over the pie and we thought it was delicious too!
